Dickson Holiday Park
Policies, Terms and Conditions

Dickson Holiday Park is the trade name of a business located in Thames, New Zealand.

Payments

A stay is only possible if the balance of the whole stay is made in full at the time of arrival, or at least 14 days upfront, if the stay is scheduled for longer than this.

If booking through our website, credit cards will be charged at half booking value at time of booking for refundable and non-refundable reservations. The second half of the value is due before taking posession of the booked item. Your credit card will be held as security against your reservation and utilised for any applicable cancellation or non-arrival fee, charges made against the room and any damage caused by misuse or carelessness. In case of payment via a different method, the booking is only secured if at least 50% of the total value of the reservation has been paid.

Cancellations

Cancellations always incur a fee of NZD 25, regardless of the circumstances. This is merely to cover administration costs, and does not represent a penalty.

Direct Bookings: A cancellation less than 48 hours from 18:00 NZ time of the arrival date will incur a charge of one night’s tariff. A “no show” or failure to arrive will incur a charge for the total value of the reservation.

Reservations made for the Christmas period (between 15th December and 31st January): If cancelled after the 31st of October, only 50% of their value can be refunded (up to two weeks value). If cancelled less than 48 hours from 18:00 NZ time of their arrival date, no refund is possible.

Refunds

Refunds are only possible within our cancellation policy (see above). They will be done only using the same method as the original payment. Refunds comprise in most cases the full amount of the payment made, minus the administration fee of NZD 25 (NZD 50 for payments to overseas bank accounts) and bank fees.

Check-in and Check-out

Check-in is from 3:00 pm, unless agreed otherwise.

Check-out time is by 10 am. In exceptional cases guests can apply for a later check-out time (e.g. 11 am). This will be at the discretion of the Park Manager, who may check the site beforehand.

Pool and Community Facilities

Pool use has to be considerate of other guests. Children have to be under supervision at all times. The use of communal kitchens, TV/library and games room, has to be considerate of other guests. Showers and laundry facilities are coin-operated ($1-4 per use depending).

Smoking / Vaping

For the comfort of all our guests, smoking or vaping is strictly forbidden within and in the immediate vicinity of the buildings (minimal
distance 5 metres). In the event of non-compliance we reserve the right of cancelling the stay whilst retaining the payments made, and engage a specialist cleaning company.

Alcohol and Other Drugs

Drunk or drugged behaviour will lead to eviction from our property. Re-admission will only occur at the discretion of the Park Manager. Alcohol consumption on the property is only allowed in reasonable amounts and not after 10 pm or before 12 pm.

Visitors / Noise

Visitors are permitted at management discretion, until 10pm, (maximum 2 visitors per room). Usage of park facilities (excluding toilets) only after seeking permission from the park manager and at the discretion of the same. The registered guest is responsible for the behaviour of all visitors while on the property. Deliberate or reckless acts that result in damage to our property and any costs associated with inappropriate behaviour, will be charged to the registered guest. Intoxicated guests or visitors who become rowdy and unruly will be evicted. Any valid complaints from other guests about noise or inappropriate behaviour will result in eviction of both guests and/or visitors and the local police will be advised

Pets

Dogs are generally welcome, as long as other guests or staff do not feel intimidated or understandably annoyed by them. However, they need to be on lead all the time (if not retained in a vehicle). They are also generally not allowed inside of our self contained accommodations, but can be booked in under certain conditions into the cabins and caravans. Also, there may be an extra cleaning fee in case we deem that necessary. In case the pets (or the owners) are not able to comply or fit in, they, unfortunately, have to go.

Pets do always have to be discussed at the time of booking. Over the Christmas period (15. December until 15. January) we are unable to admit pets on our campgrounds. An exception may be in place for pets which already have been living on our grounds for at least several weeks.

Extra Persons

Any extra people staying not declared in the booking may be asked to leave, and additional charges may be added to the account.

Cleaning

Room cleaning standards are high, and we appreciate the room being left tidy. Management reserves the right to charge an additional $60 if the room is left in such a state that additional cleaning is required. We also reserve the right to charge for loss of income if the room cannot be made available due to additional cleaning needs.
Please also leave the space you may use in any of the communal facilities clean and tidy.

Payment of Account

Payment of account will be taken by check in, unless already prepaid. A credit card is to be provided to cover all charges that may be made against the room. If no credit card details are provided payment of all accommodation charges plus a $ 250 bond is required at check-in. Any unpaid account will incur late payment fees and collection costs.
